July 16, 2021 - RV-10: Attach Tailcone to QB Fuse

Today was a big day for the RV-10 project.  We attached the aft fuselage (tailcone) to the forward, quickbuild fuselage.  It took some effort, tweaks and jiggling, but in the end everything fit perfectly.  It really is amazing how the pre-drilled skins and bulkheads come together.

When the quickbuild fuselage and finish kit first arrived, it was a little bewildering where to begin.  But after studying the plans/drawings, and the forward fuselage, we gradually got smarter and figured out what needed to be done in which order.
   
Actually, we started with the steps, but discovered everything with them was pretty much done.  All that is left to do is insert them into the fuse and secure them with a single bolt.
   
Everything in zinc chromate green is the quickbuild fuse and everything aft of that is the tailcone.
